Due to sustained growth, MCL Capital is seeking an established Account Manager to join its close-knit team in Wellington. This role will support MCL’s Director - Government, taking responsibility for a portfolio of accounts while also identifying and developing new opportunities across government and government-adjacent markets.

It suits someone who has, and can build trusted relationships, understands the ‘machinery of Government’, and convert insights into practical financing and commercial solutions. While MCL’s roots are in IT, their solutions have evolved to include a diverse range of assets and opportunities.  It’s an exciting opportunity to join a well-respected team and propel your career to the next level.  Project size ranges from $100,000 to $100+ million.

You may have built your career in asset finance, technology, consulting, a government agency, or a government-adjacent sector. What matters most is your ability to navigate stakeholder-rich environments, the broader ecosystem, create confidence with senior decision makers, and identify where MCL’s alternative financing solutions can deliver value. You will also support the creation of sales and contract documentation; ensure key information stays up to date and identify and act on opportunities for business improvement.

To be successful in this role, MCL Capital is seeking someone who brings:

• An established background in business development, sales or account management
• More than five years’ experience in a customer-facing role, ideally working with large government sector clients or complex enterprise, public sector, technology, consulting, or government-adjacent environments.
• Exceptional relationship building skills with a broad network and a history of delivering successful customer solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Commercial curiosity and the confidence to uncover, shape, and progress new opportunities.
• A bachelor's degree in a commercial, finance or technology field is preferred but not essential where equivalent experience is demonstrated
