Are you passionate about building meaningful partnerships and delivering projects that make a lasting impact for people and conservation?

We're seeking a skilled Project Lead to support the delivery of Treaty settlement obligations, strengthen relationships with Treaty partners, and lead complex projects that contribute to positive conservation outcomes. This role is primarily office-based in Palmerston North, with flexibility to work from home two days per week.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting the implementation of Treaty settlement obligations and partnership commitments.
• Building and maintaining trusted relationships with iwi, hapū, community groups, and stakeholders.
• Leading complex, collaborative projects involving multiple partners and agencies.
• Providing Treaty-related advice and support to operational teams.
• Identifying risks, opportunities, and improvements that strengthen conservation outcomes and partnerships.
• Supporting capability development across teams and contributing to regional and national initiatives.

What you'll bring

• Experience building strong relationships with iwi, hapū, communities, or other key stakeholders.
• A sound understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its practical application.
• Proven project management experience delivering successful outcomes in complex environments.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship management skills.
• Strategic thinking, sound judgement, and the ability to navigate sensitive situations.
• Experience advising, guiding, or mentoring others.
