Project Officer (2 roles)
Digital Knowledge Exchange (DKX) and Skills Accelerator – AI
12-month contract
The Opportunity
Do you enjoy building something that doesn't already exist?
Future Skills Organisation (FSO) is looking for two Project Officers to join nationally significant initiatives shaping Australia's future workforce—one supporting the Digital Knowledge Exchange (DKX) and one supporting the Skills Accelerator – AI.
Both projects are helping industry, educators and government respond to the rapid pace of digital and artificial intelligence capability across Australia.
These aren't traditional project coordination roles.
We're looking for curious, commercially minded people who are comfortable working in fast-moving environments, solving problems that don't yet have clear answers, and helping turn ideas into impactful programs.
If you've worked in a startup, scale-up, innovation team or high-growth organisation, you'll feel right at home.
What You'll Be Doing
Working closely with Project Leads and industry stakeholders, you'll help drive the delivery and evolution of nationally important initiatives by:
- Coordinating project activities, workshops and stakeholder engagement
- Building trusted relationships across industry, government and education
- Gathering insights, data and evidence to tell compelling stories about project impact
- Using data and feedback to continuously improve products, programs and customer experience
- Supporting the development and positioning of new initiatives in market
- Keeping projects moving in an environment where priorities evolve and opportunities emerge.
What You'll Bring
We're less interested in whether you've held the title "Project Officer" and more interested in how you think.
You might come from:
- a technology, fintech or education startup
- digital product, program or portfolio management
- innovation, strategy or transformation
- customer success or product operations
- consulting or project delivery in a fast-paced environment.
You'll also bring:
- Experience working autonomously with minimal direction
- A strategic mindset that looks beyond process to outcomes
- Confidence navigating ambiguity and creating structure where none exists
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- The ability to use data and insights to influence decisions and tell meaningful stories
- A continuous improvement mindset with an entrepreneurial approach to problem solving.
Experience in education, vocational education (VET), workforce development or government-funded programs will be highly regarded but isn't essential.
Why Join FSO?
At FSO, we're helping shape Australia's future workforce across the finance, technology and business sectors through innovative, industry-led skills reform. You'll join a collaborative, remote-first organisation where curiosity, accountability and innovation are valued, and where your ideas can genuinely influence national outcomes.
You'll enjoy: - Meaningful work with national impact
- Flexible, remote-first working
- A collaborative, high-performing team
- The opportunity to work on innovative digital and AI initiatives
- A culture that encourages curiosity, autonomy and continuous learning.
Are you with us?
If you're energised by innovation, enjoy working where no two days look the same, and want to help shape the future of Australia's workforce, we'd love to hear from you.
