Weekend & Afterschool Mentor

Location: Upper East Side, New York, NY

Schedule:

Tuesdays: 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Weekends: 4-8 hours (TBD)

Compensation: $50-$60/hr (DOE)

About the Role:

An Upper East Side family seeks a mature, proactive male mentor for their 16-year-old son. The mentor will provide guidance, support executive functioning, social skills, and healthy peer/adult relationships, while encouraging accountability and empathy. The teen enjoys sports (especially basketball) and music, and would benefit from help exploring related activities.

Responsibilities:

Provide transportation to school, therapy, and activities

Support organization, time management, and task follow-through

Model and coach appropriate social behavior and communication

Reinforce positive choices and respectful interactions

Offer consistent structure, accountability, and support

Maintain open communication with parents

Ideal Candidate:

Male role model with a kind, grounded presence

Experience with teens facing ADHD, executive functioning, or mild behavioral challenges

Skilled at setting boundaries and addressing inappropriate behavior calmly

Emotionally intelligent, patient, and understanding of adolescent development

Background in education, mentorship, or coaching a plus
