A family on the Upper East Side of NYC is seeking a Family Assistant/Nanny for their 4-year-old son. They are looking for a fun, engaging, and energetic team player who enjoys being active. Their son loves spending time outdoors, whether in the city or in the Hamptons. The family occasionally travels to the Hamptons throughout the year and would appreciate a candidate open to joining them. During the summer, they reside there full-time for approximately three months, and the nanny would work Monday through Friday, arriving on Monday and leaving on Friday. Live-in is not required if the candidate has other accommodations. A weekend nanny is already in place, so weekends are not part of the role.
The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 11 AM to 7 PM, approximately 40 hours per week, with flexibility to start earlier on non-school days. Responsibilities include light meal preparation for the child, organizing and maintaining his room and belongings, managing his laundry, and engaging in childcare activities. In addition to nanny duties, the role includes family assistant responsibilities such as grocery shopping, running errands, managing packages and returns, purchasing gifts, household organization, and handling administrative tasks like car registration renewals.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable driving and familiar with NYC. They should be educated and adaptable, capable of evolving into a larger household management role as the child enters school full-time. Since one parent works from home, the family is looking for someone who is comfortable with that dynamic. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of $40 to $45, with flexibility depending on experience.
