Employment Services Case Worker (Identified Position)
- Location: Newtown, Sydney (with flexibility to work across Greater Sydney)
- Classification: Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS) – Level 4
- Work Type: Fixed Term Contract until June 2027, part-time (22.8 hours per week)
- Reports To: Employment Services Manager

The Opportunity Are you passionate about empowering women and breaking down barriers to employment and housing security? We are looking for an Employment Services Case Worker to join our dedicated Employment Services team.
In this vital role, you will specifically support women seeking asylum including single parents and those at risk of homelessness to secure meaningful employment and stable homes. Using a trauma-informed, person-centred, and strengths-based model of care, you will provide the holistic, tailored pathway support they need to thrive in the community.
Key Responsibilities - Tailored Casework & Support: Manage a dedicated caseload of female clients, conducting assessments, reviewing needs, and co-designing tailored job search plans and administering employment support through Asylum Seeker Employment Skills Support (ASESS) Program
- Holistic Pathways: Connect clients to critical external support systems, completing referrals for childcare, complex casework, and specialised programs like Dress for Success and the WAGEC Access Mentoring program.
- Collaborative Crisis Prevention: Work hand-in-hand with our Client Support Services team and participate in multidisciplinary case planning meetings to establish pathways that reduce the risk of homelessness.
- Job Placement & Support: Oversee job readiness, market candidates to employer partners, manage training enquiries (TAFE/VET), and provide post-placement support.
- Volunteer & Hub Supervision: Supervise the Employment Hub on a rostered basis and guide volunteers as they assist clients with job applications and CRM data entry.
Essential Criteria: - Sector Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in employment services, recruitment, HR, social work, psychology, or the humanitarian sector.
- Trauma-Informed Practice: The ability to listen to, engage with, and learn from people with complex needs using a strengths-based approach.
- Advocacy & Understanding: A strong understanding of the unique systemic issues affecting people seeking asylum.
- Digital Literacy: Solid technical skills and experience utilizing CRM systems to document client journeys and measure impact.
- Collaborative Spirit: Excellent interpersonal communication, an energetic attitude, and a commitment to "leadership at every level".
Desirable Criteria: - Lived experience as a refugee or person seeking asylum.
- Knowledge of education and childcare sectors.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Understanding of intersectional feminism and gender based violence
