Position: IT Support Volunteer
Program Area: Information Technology
Purpose / Objective: Provide technical support for the Team at the Asylum Seekers Centre
Reports to: IT Support
Commitment Period: Minimum 3 months
Days and hours required per week: One day a week, from Tuesday to Thursday between 10 am and 4 pm (flexible, minimum 4 hours)

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Help Desk Support: Being the first point of contact for staff and clients (troubleshooting basic hardware issues, file sharing, and "how-to" queries).
• Hardware Lifecycle: Assisting with laptop repairs, prepping new machines for deployment, and managing our e-waste process.
• User Admin: Helping manage user accounts and access permissions.

Selection Criteria:

• Experience in working with people from various backgrounds and cultures
• Strong computer skills (e.g. hard drive replacement, OS installation)
• Other IT experience (e.g. programming, interface design)
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers 
• Flexibility and willingness to take on extra tasks as appropriate
• Ability to adhere to policies in relation to code of conduct, boundaries and confidentiality
• Problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
