We are looking for a hands-on Accountant to join a busy finance team in a high-volume, transactional environment.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role will suit someone who enjoys variety, is highly detail-oriented and can confidently manage competing priorities. You will be involved across a broad range of financial accounting activities, from GST returns and month-end journals through to reconciliations, financial reporting and supporting transactional finance functions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Accountant who enjoys being close to the detail and wants exposure to a broad range of accounting activities within a fast-paced business.
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process month-end journals and assist with month-end close activities.
• Prepare and complete GST returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with financial reporting, including reporting through to trial balance.
• Perform detailed account and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process and manage complex foreign currency transactions and associated accounting requirements.
• Provide support across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable when required.
• Work closely with suppliers and logistics teams to resolve financial and transactional queries.
• Assist with supplier payments and payment-related journals.
• Work through shipment allocations and ensure costs are accurately allocated to the appropriate shipments, accounts and transactions.
• Assist with the preparation and review of financial information and reporting.
• Investigate discrepancies and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Provide general accounting support to the Financial Controller and wider finance team.
• Contribute to process improvements and ensure finance processes are completed accurately and within required timeframes.

About You

We are looking for someone who is technically capable, commercially minded and comfortable working in a high-volume environment.
You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Financial Accountant or similar accounting role.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Experience with GST returns and month-end accounting.
• Strong reconciliation skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Experience working with foreign currency transactions would be advantageous.
• The ability to work confidently in a high-volume, transactional environment.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• A quick-learning mindset and the ability to pick up new systems and processes quickly.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across finance, suppliers and operational teams.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the confidence to investigate issues and find solutions.
• A strong team mentality and willingness to support the wider finance function.
• Chinese language skills would be highly regarded.
