We’re on the lookout for someone with Datapay experience to take ownership as the senior in a small team, who is reliable, detail-oriented and and loves supporting a business with their strong technical payroll knowledge.

About the Role

Reporting to the Financial Services Manager, you will oversee the payroll function operating under an outsourced Datacom model. Working alongside one team member, you’ll ensure smooth end-to-end pay runs and act as the internal subject matter expert for all things Datacom and payroll compliance.

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee and ensure timely, accurate weekly and monthly pay runs using Datapay.
• Perform initial variance analysis and commentary prior to pay run approvals.
• Act as the internal go-to expert for payroll and legislation queries across the wider business.
• Design and run standard and ad-hoc headcount and payroll reports using Report Builder
• Partner with the Datacom consultant to continually streamline and automate payroll processes.

What You’ll Bring:

• Proven experience using Datacom / Datapay within an outsourced payroll model.
• Strong working knowledge of NZ payroll legislation, specifically the Holidays Act and any upcoming legislation changes.
• Experience using Datapay’s Report Builder is a plus (training provided).
• High process discipline, attention to detail, and strong personal accountability.
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical payroll concepts clearly to non-payroll stakeholders.
