This ever changing and developing NZX listed business, based in the heart of the CBD, is looking for a dynamic Finance Manager, to join the team and add real value to both the wider business and the overall finance team.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited too;
- Ownership of the Fixed Assets and Capex
- Capitalisation of development and refurbishment projects
- Partnering with Development Managers on project financials
- Ensuring correct treatment of WIP, capex, and asset transfers
- Oversight of property-related accounting (leases, fit-outs, R&M vs capital decisions)
- Monthly reporting including asset movements, depreciation and reconciliations.
- Annual valuations reporting, including managing the relationship with the external valuers and challenging assumptions.
- External reporting requirements
- Driving process improvements across capital expenditure tracking
- Managing a direct report and growing their skills
You will act as the key finance point of contact for property and development stakeholders, ensuring financial integrity while enabling commercial decision-making.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Senior Accountant role
- Strong background in property accounting or a project based role, would be preferred
- Deep understanding of:
- Asset capitalisation
- Fixed asset registers
- Project accounting
- Development spend and capex tracking
- Confidence determining capital vs expense treatment
- CA / CPA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong systems capability (ERP experience essential and ideally D365)
