Complex Care Assistant – Young Adults
Location: Gloucester, GL2
Shift Times: Monday to Friday, 07.15-10.15 and 15.30-19.30
Pay Rate: £14.60 per hour
 
About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Complex Care Assistant to support a young person with their daily routine. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality care in a person-centred environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Morning Duties:

• Support the young person with their morning routine and personal care
• Administer medication both orally and via Enteral Gastrostomy, as well as provide additional fluids
• Assist with all aspects of moving and handling, including safe transfers into their personal vehicle
• Drive the young person to college in Cheltenham, provide a detailed handover to college staff, and return the vehicle to the home address

Afternoon Duties:

• Collect the young person’s vehicle and travel to the college in Cheltenham for pickup
• Return the young person home safely
• Prepare and provide nutritional support upon arrival home
• Support with evening personal care, including bathing
• Administer medication and fluids as required
• Provide companionship and ensure a calm and comfortable environment

 
Requirements:

• Experience in complex care, particularly with PEG (Enteral Gastrostomy) feeding
• Moving and handling training (or willingness to complete training)
• Full UK driving licence and comfortable driving the young person’s vehicle
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
• A caring, respectful, and professional approach to supporting others
