Job Title: Complex Care Assistant
Location: Gloucester - GL2 7LZ
Hourly Rate: £14.50–£17.50 + Mileage (40p per mile)
Hours Needed: Tuesday 15.45-22.15, Thursday 15.45-22.15, Sunday 15.45-22.15. Friday 4hrs flexible for bandage cutting. 8hrs per week social care hours – flexible.
 
About the Role
 
We are looking for a proactive, confident, and compassionate Complex Care Assistant to support a bright and engaging 12-year-old girl living with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a rare genetic skin condition that causes her skin to blister easily. She lives life to the fullest and enjoys girly chats, watching the latest TV shows, trips to the cinema, and going shopping.
 
This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in a young person’s life, providing both medical and emotional support in a respectful, age-appropriate, and empowering way.
 
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:

• Engaging and confident – JR is highly intuitive and needs someone who can calmly lead during her care routines
• Proactive and supportive – Encouraging her independence without making her feel ‘different’
• Emotionally intelligent – Provide calm, competent care
• Comfortable with wound care – Includes bandage changes, preparing dressings, and monitoring skin condition
