Job Title: Support Worker & Community Home Care Assistant Location: Ottery St Mary, Sidmouth, ExmouthHours: Full-time, including every other weekendPay:
£13.00–£14.00/hour (Weekdays before 5pm)
£14.00–£15.00/hour (Evenings & Weekends)
£20.00/hour (Bank Holidays)Additional Pay: Mileage (35p per mile) + Paid travel time

At Bluebird Care, we’re looking for an energetic and compassionate Support Worker & Home Care Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a friendly gentleman with complex needs, and deliver high-quality home care to customers across Ottery St Mary, Sidmouth, and Exmouth. This is more than just a job—it’s a fulfilling role where you’ll empower others, provide companionship, and support people to live safely and independently in their own homes.
What You'll Be Doing Support Worker (1:1 Complex Needs Role):
Provide companionship and confidence-building support
Assist with gentle structure, motivation, and positive routines
Drive client to appointments and community activities
Daily dog walks – must be comfortable with dogs!
Support emotional wellbeing and social inclusion(No personal care required in this element of the role)
Home Care Assistant (Community-based Role):
Provide dignified personal care and support with daily routines
Help with meal preparation and light household tasks
Offer friendly companionship and a listening ear
Support individuals during more challenging moments with kindness and professionalism
Deliver consistent care visits across the local area

We’re Looking For Someone Who Is:
A driver with access to their own car (essential for community visits)
Kind, trustworthy, and dependable
Comfortable with dogs (dog walking is part of the role!)
Positive, encouraging, and a great communicator
Comfortable with a balance of emotional support and hands-on personal care
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Passionate about providing meaningful, high-quality care
