Job Title: Young Person's Personal Assistant (PA)
Location: South Gloucestershire
Hourly Rate: £16.00 (Weekdays), £17.50 (Weekends)
Hours: 20–24 hours per week on a rolling 2-week rota
Employer: Direct employment by the young person
Supported by: JR Clinical Training & Case Management
 
About the Role
Are you passionate about supporting young people with complex needs to live a full and independent life? We are looking for a female Personal Assistant to work directly with a vibrant young person in South Gloucestershire, helping her engage in her hobbies, access the community, and attend appointments.
This is a rewarding, hands-on role supporting someone with Cerebral Palsy, sensory processing needs, and executive function challenges, both in her home and out in the community. You’ll play a key part in her rehabilitation and everyday enjoyment of life.
 
Key ResponsibilitiesSocial Support

• Attend and assist with horse riding and swimming lessons
• Support with educational needs and school attendance
• Accompany to medical appointments
• Assist in accessing local amenities like the cinema, shops, and restaurants
• Encourage socialising with friends and family
• Engage in home-based hobbies and activities

Personal Care

• Assist with personal hygiene where needed
• Promote independence in daily tasks
• Support with physiotherapy and rehabilitation programmes

Domestic Duties

• Prepare and serve healthy meals and snacks
• Help with light household tasks including cleaning, laundry, and changing bedding

• Willing to learn, especially if you're new to equestrian activities

 
Essential Requirements

• Female (Occupational requirement due to personal care responsibilities)
• Full UK driving licence (Automatic vehicle provided)
• Business insurance is required so must be over 25 years of age
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
• Experience supporting young people with complex needs
• Able to swim
• Strong Maths and English skills for educational support
• Knowledge of or interest in horses
• Non-smoker

 
Desirable Skills

• Comfortable with animals (especially dogs)
• Confident using a computer
• Experience managing or supporting behaviours that challenge
• Great communication and listening skills

 
What You’ll Receive

• Full training, induction, and support from JR Clinical Training & Case Management
• Regular supervision and appraisals
• A structured two-week rota:
  • Week 1: Mon, Tue, Wed, Sat (24 hours total)
  • Week 2: Mon, Tue, Wed, Sun (23 hours total)
