Weekend Care Assistant – Home-Based Support (Saturday & Sunday)
 
Location: High Littleton
Hours: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM (Saturday and Sunday)
Salary: £16 per hour
Contract Type: Part-time (weekends only, evening shifts also available)
 
We are currently seeking a Weekend Care Assistant to support a client in their own home with complex care needs.
 
About the Role:
As a Weekend Care Assistant, you will provide dedicated one-to-one support that enhances the client’s comfort, communication, and quality of life on Saturdays and Sundays.
 
Support Areas Include:

• Communication support – Assisting the client in using a Communication Aid and interpreting facial expressions, vocalisations, and eye pointing.
• PEG feeding and medication – Observing and reporting any concerns with the feeding site or equipment (no medication administration required).
• Seizure monitoring – Being observant for signs of seizures and responding appropriately.
• Mobility assistance – Supporting a full-time wheelchair user with repositioning and general comfort.
• Supporting with physical needs – Understanding and working with conditions such as a movement disorder, left leg amputation, and neuromuscular scoliosis.
• Hearing awareness – Adjusting communication methods to accommodate moderate hearing loss.

 What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience in a care role, particularly with PEG feeding and communication support, is highly desirable.
• Kindness, patience, and a genuine passion for person-centred care.
• Strong observation and listening skills.
• Confidence in assisting individuals with limited mobility and complex health conditions.
