Night Care Assistant – High Littleton
 
Location: High Littleton
Hourly Rate: £17-£18 per hour
Shift Pattern: 9pm- 9am - Full-time/Part-time & Flexible shifts available
 
We’re looking for a Night Care Assistant to join a small, dedicated team supporting a gentleman with complex health needs in the comfort of his own home.
 
About the Person You’ll Support:
You’ll be supporting a kind and resilient gentleman who, despite facing multiple health challenges, communicates clearly through facial expressions, eye pointing, and vocalisations. He has a movement disorder, a left leg amputation, neuromuscular scoliosis, and moderate hearing loss. He uses a wheelchair full-time and has a PEG feeding tube in place. He also has a history of seizures, so vigilance and attentiveness are essential.
 
As a Night Care Assistant, you’ll be responsible for:

• Providing repositioning and personal care to ensure comfort and prevent pressure areas
• Being alert and responsive to non-verbal cues, supporting the client’s needs using his preferred communication style
• Seizure awareness and management – observing for signs and responding appropriately
• Supporting with overnight wellbeing checks, creating a calm and safe environment
• Keeping clear, accurate night-time care records and handovers

• Experience in complex care or willingness to learn (PEG, seizures, mobility support, etc.)
• A good understanding of non-verbal communication
• Someone calm, reliable, and confident working alone overnight
• A respectful and person-centred approach to care
• Previous experience in homecare or working 1:1 is essential
