TradeMutt isn't your average workwear brand. Built on bold prints and an even bolder mission to start conversations about mental health, they've become instantly recognisable on worksites across Australia.
 
But great design doesn't stop at colour. The next chapter for TradeMutt is all about fit.
 
They're on the hunt for an experienced Garment Technician to help refine and elevate their signature woven shirt blocks, ensuring every shirt not only stands out, but fits beautifully on every body. This is a project-based contract of a few hours per week for someone who loves the technical side of apparel and gets a little thrill from turning a good fit into a perfect one.
 
If you understand the architecture of a shirt and know how to translate fittings into precision digital patterns, this could be a very fun project to sink your teeth into.

What you'll be doing:

• Refining core fit blocks by auditing and updating TradeMutt's woven shirt patterns across sizes and styles.
• Digital pattern making: creating, adjusting and grading patterns to share with offshore manufacturing partners.
• Running fit analysis, participating in fit sessions and identifying technical improvements for comfort, movement and silhouette.
• Updating tech packs and technical specifications so manufacturing partners have absolute clarity.
• Maintaining quality standards through detailed measurement checks and tolerance reviews.

 
About you:

• Strong experience as a Garment Technician or Pattern Maker, ideally within workwear, shirting or menswear.
• Advanced capability in digital pattern-making software such as Gerber, Lectra, Optitex or StyleCAD.
• A deep understanding of woven garment construction and how pattern adjustments impact fit and drape.
• Expert knowledge of grading rules to ensure consistency and inclusivity across size ranges.
• Confidence translating technical garment insights into clear, practical language for cross-functional teams.
