Databricks Engineer
Position Summary
Our client’s engineering team develops an industry-leading Software as a Service data warehouse platform, analytical tools, and custom applications for healthcare providers, payers, community coalitions, and all payer claims database customers. They are looking for creative, passionate, and enthusiastic engineers who can help build the next generation of products and solutions.
The team is seeking a Databricks Engineer who can leverage a strong understanding of data warehouse technologies and engineering techniques to help their growing company in the development of new and exciting solutions, specifically leveraging Databricks. While much of this role will be spent writing code, the rest will be dedicated to learning/growing knowledge of data architecture and the ever-evolving landscape of Big Data.
The ideal candidate is an intermediate-level Databricks Engineer who is interested in growing to Advanced/Expert level and learning how to shape and integrate complex data in the healthcare space. They have a strong sense of ownership in their work and are seeking a fast-paced, collaborative, and cross-functional working environment. They thrive in an environment where they continuously build upon their data engineering skillsets and expand their understanding of the holistic data lifecycle.
Primary Responsibilities
The core responsibility for this Databricks Engineer is to work alongside fellow engineers and product strategy and design teams to develop cutting edge end-to-end data pipelines that underpin leading solutions within the healthcare data analytics space. The team is working to improve all aspects of their data infrastructure - revitalizing the data intake process, optimizing data processing leveraging Databricks, and designing/building tailored data marts as part of their larger data access layer strategy.
Required Skills and Experience
• Education or experience with Big Data technologies, including:
o Databricks (~2 years, Intermediate)
o Spark SQL (Intermediate)
o Relational database technologies; and
o Data pipelines
• Education or experience
o Building cloud-based solutions (Azure, AWS, etc.)
o Designing tailored data marts for intentional reporting needs
o Working with large data sets
o Executing On-Prem to Cloud Migration
• Bachelors’ degree in Technology/Engineering/Computer Science, or equivalent experience
