Our Client
Our client is a long-standing international leader in poultry breeding. Its specialist quarantine facility, located approximately 25 kilometres south of Wagga Wagga, receives and cares for imported eggs, manages incubation and hatching, and rears breeding stock through the quarantine period under strict government-approved protocols.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting pathway into specialist poultry operations and future leadership. Working closely with the Quarantine Manager, you will help run the facility, learn every aspect of the operation and develop the capability to step up when the Manager is absent.
Key Responsibilities
- Support egg receipt, incubation, hatching and the rearing of breeding stock.
- Monitor flock health, welfare, performance, feed use and environmental conditions.
- Follow DAFF requirements, quarantine procedures, biosecurity controls and detailed SOPs.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and audit-ready documentation.
- Assist with staff rosters, training, site maintenance, clean-outs and contractor coordination.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call roster and respond to facility alarms when required.
About You You may already have poultry or animal-husbandry experience, or you may be a recent agriculture, animal science or related graduate ready to build a career. More important is your attitude and ability to:
- Plan carefully, follow procedures and maintain exceptional attention to detail.
- Work reliably and independently in a highly controlled regional environment.
- Communicate clearly, keep accurate records and contribute positively to a small team.
- Undertake practical and sometimes physical work while maintaining strong safety and animal-welfare standards.
- Hold a current driver's licence.
