Our Client
Our client is a leading independent agribusiness providing agricultural products, equipment, services and trusted advice across Queensland and north-west New South Wales. The Proserpine branch is led by a Branch Manager and Merchandise Manager, supported by a part-time team member.
 
The Role
Our client is seeking an Agronomist to support customers and branch employees across the Whitsunday region. Working predominantly with sugarcane and livestock producers, you will provide practical advice while promoting agronomy services, chemicals, fertiliser, seed and general merchandise.
Combining field agronomy with commercial responsibility, the role offers support from an established branch and genuine scope to grow the local customer base.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Provide practical agronomic advice on crop nutrition, soil health, pest and disease management
• Collect and interpret soil, plant and feed samples
• Build strong relationships with existing customers and actively grow the local customer base
• Recommend seed, fertiliser, crop protection and other rural products
• Keep accurate agronomy records, maps and job sheets using company systems
• Work closely with the Branch Manager and sales team to meet customer needs

About You

• A qualification in agronomy, agricultural science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Ideally at least two years' experience in agronomy or a comparable agricultural role
• A commercial mindset and genuine interest in building long-term customer relationships
• Strong organisation, attention to detail and time-management skills
• Current driver licence; Nutrient Advantage accreditation will be highly regarded
