THE COMPANY
Greenham, a successful sixth generation Australian owned business, is looking for an experienced Value-Added Room Manager to lead the daily operations of our value-added processing facility in Tongala VIC. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on maximising yield, delivering premium quality, driving labour efficiency and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and workplace safety.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you’ll lead Supervisors, Leading Hands and Production Operators to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality production outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
• Lead daily operations to meet production schedules, volume targets and customer orders.
• Optimise yield, raw material usage and trim to minimise waste and product give-away.
• Manage labour, workforce planning, rostering, performance and team development.
• Ensure product consistently meets customer specifications for weight, trim and quality.
• Maintain strict compliance with HACCP, SQF, PrimeSafe and Department of Agriculture export requirements.
• Lead quality investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive WHS performance and a strong, proactive safety culture.
• Ensure equipment, sanitation, procedures and work instructions support safe and efficient operations.
• Monitor budgets, operating costs and opportunities for improvement.
• Analyse production, safety, quality and workforce data and report outcomes to senior management.
THE REQUIREMENTS
You’ll be an experienced operational leader who understands the demands of a high-volume meat processing environment and knows how to deliver consistent results. Ideally, you’ll bring:
• 5+ years’ experience in high-volume meat processing, including significant Value-Added Room experience.
• Demonstrated leadership or management experience.
• Proven success managing productivity, yield, quality, food safety and WHS outcomes.
• Experience driving operational improvement and efficiency.
• Strong workforce planning, performance management and people development skills.
• Certificate IV or Diploma in Meat Processing, Production Management, Operations Management, Engineering or a related field.
• HACCP and Food Safety training/certification.
• Lean Manufacturing training will be highly regarded.
