The Client
Our client is an established Asia-Pacific leader providing specialised, technically advanced treatment solutions to highly regulated industries. The business supports customers to protect product integrity, meet market-access requirements and open new commercial opportunities.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, this position will develop strategic commercial opportunities and customer relationships across Australia's domestic fresh produce industry. The focus is on retaining and growing key accounts, opening new markets and developing practical phytosanitary treatment and supply-chain solutions. Working closely with operational, quality and technical teams, you will turn customer and industry needs into safe, compliant and commercially viable services. Regular local and interstate travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic account plans for nominated customers.
- Grow existing accounts and identify new business and market-development opportunities.
- Build trusted relationships with growers, packhouses, wholesalers, retailers, industry groups and other senior stakeholders.
- Prepare customer solutions, proposals and business cases, including pricing, capacity and implementation requirements.
Requirements You will be a commercially astute business development or strategic account professional with strong knowledge of Australian fresh produce and its supply chains. You will be comfortable engaging senior customers, identifying opportunities and working across commercial, technical and operational teams to deliver results.
- Significant business development, account management or commercial experience in fresh produce, horticulture, agribusiness, food supply chains, logistics or a related sector.
- Experience in domestic biosecurity, interstate market access, phytosanitary treatment or regulated food supply chains will be highly regarded.
- A strong network across growers, packhouses, wholesalers, retailers or industry associations.
- Proven commercial judgement, negotiation skills and ability to grow strategic accounts.
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder-management capability.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent industry experience, and a current driver's licence.
Location & Remuneration This role is based in Melbourne, Victoria. An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
