The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Fresh Produce Business Development Manager (Export) is responsible for developing strategic commercial opportunities and customer relationships across Australia's fresh produce export sector. This role focuses on customer retention and growth, export market access, industry engagement and developing commercially viable phytosanitary treatment and supply chain solutions. Working closely with operations, quality, technical and executive teams, you will identify new export opportunities, support market access initiatives and develop strategic partnerships that help Australian exporters access global markets.
Responsibilities
- Develop strategic relationships with exporters, growers, packhouses and industry stakeholders
- Grow existing customer accounts while developing new export opportunities
- Support export market access initiatives and international growth strategies
- Lead customer negotiations, proposals and strategic account planning
- Monitor export markets, international protocols and emerging industry opportunities
- Partner with operational and technical teams to deliver commercially viable customer solutions
Key RequirementsYou are an experienced business development professional with strong commercial capability and a passion for Australia's fresh produce export industry. You thrive on building strategic relationships, identifying growth opportunities and working collaboratively to deliver commercial outcomes within regulated environments.
- Extensive business development or strategic account management experience
- Experience with export protocols, phytosanitary treatment, biosecurity or international fresh produce supply chains will be highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of Australia's fresh produce export industry
- Knowledge of export markets, market access or international trade
- Commercial negotiation and relationship management capability
Location and Remuneration This role is based in Melbourne. An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
