Our Client
Our client is one of Australia's most respected independent farming systems groups, operating across north-east Victoria and southern New South Wales. For over 25 years, the organisation has worked alongside farmers, research bodies and industry partners to deliver practical, high-impact research, development and extension (RD&E) that improves farm profitability, resilience and sustainability. With a strong reputation, an engaged Board, and a capable team already in place, they are now looking to appoint a new CEO to lead the organisation through its next phase.
The Role
This is a genuine leadership role — both strategic and hands-on. Reporting to the Board, you will lead the organisation across strategy, performance, stakeholder engagement and long-term sustainability. A key focus will be securing funding, building partnerships and ensuring the organisation continues to deliver real value to its farmer members. You will be highly visible in the industry and are expected to build strong relationships across farmers, government, RDCs and research partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute organisational strategy
- Secure and grow funding through grants, partnerships and new revenue streams
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across industry and government
- Lead and develop a high-performing, values-driven team
- Oversee the delivery of RD&E programs with measurable impact
- Ensure strong governance, financial performance and compliance
- Represent the organisation at the regional, state and national levels
About You You are an experienced senior leader who knows how to get things done. Experience in agriculture, RD&E or working with farmers is highly regarded, but not essential. You bring:
- CEO or senior executive experience in a complex or purpose-driven organisation
- A track record of securing funding and building strategic partnerships
- Strong commercial and financial capability
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams
- Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A practical, outcomes-focused leadership style
Remuneration & Location An appropriate remuneration package is available for this role. Candidates should be based in the Mulwala, NSW, region or the surrounding area, as community engagement is crucial for this role.
