The Business
Our client is an established Agri investment and asset manager, backed by a leading global investment group. With a large-scale portfolio already in place and significant expansion in size and scale over the near term, they focus on innovative and commercially driven livestock systems as well as incorporating natural capital initiatives to deliver sustainable long-term returns.
  
The Role
The General Manager plays a pivotal leadership role within the business, reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team. Responsible for the full operational and commercial performance of the portfolio, you will lead a geographically dispersed team of Farm Managers and operational staff to deliver against the company’s strategic and financial targets.

This is a broad and multifaceted executive position requiring a high level of commercial acumen, strong people leadership, and deep operational expertise in large-scale grazing systems. You will be accountable for the delivery of well-structured asset management plans, drive continuous improvement, and bring a sharp focus to pasture management, performance and the integration of carbon and biodiversity outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Fostering a culture of safety, performance, environmental responsibility, and regional community engagement;
• Development and execution of annual plans including budgets, CapEx, WHS, sustainability and performance KPIs;
• Oversight of operational models, pasture utilisation and tree regeneration areas (carbon) to drive productivity and optimise long-term asset value;
• Supporting new acquisitions and ensuring seamless integration of assets into the portfolio.  

Requirements
At least 10 years in leadership roles with strong livestock and pasture management experience and a demonstrated history of running large scale operations. The ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels, through effective communication and leadership skills is critical. Exposure to carbon and biodiversity projects is desirable but not essential.

Location
The preferred location for this role is St George, QLD. Alternative arrangements may be considered for the right candidate, however a strong and visible presence on the ground is considered essential to effectively lead and foster a strong team culture.
