Our client is a diversified agribusiness which manufactures, processes and markets agricultural and food products for the PNG domestic market and exports to other Pacific Islands. The company is the market leader and foremost innovator in most market sectors it serves. This highly respected group has been established for over forty years and employs over 1,000 people. Businesses operated by the company include poultry, stockfeed, flour, crocodiles and egg layers.

Role and location
A vacancy has arisen for a Sales & Marketing Manager located in Lae, Papua New Guinea. This role will achieve business development activities by researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans, implementing sales plans, and managing staff.

Responsibilities

• Accomplish marketing and sales human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
• Achieve marketing and sales operational objectives by contributing marketing and sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
• Meet marketing and sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

   Requirements

• Experience in business or in marketing
• At least 10 years work experience in sales or marketing position within the food or feedstock industries and 5 years in management role
• Experience in the food or poultry industries would be desirable
• Be an excellent communicator with proven negotiating skills

Remuneration
A generous remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant including base salary, housing and company vehicle. Employer will assist with work permit and visa applications. Relocation assistance include return flights to Papua New Guinea and 25 days of annual leave per annum.
