Our client is a diversified agribusiness which manufactures, processes and markets agricultural and food products for the PNG domestic market and exports to other Pacific Islands. The company is market leader and foremost innovator in most market sectors it serves. This highly respected group has been established for over forty years and employs over 1,000 people. Businesses operated by the company include poultry, stockfeed, flour, crocodiles and egg layers.

ROLE AND LOCATION
A vacancy has arisen for a Production Manager located in Lae, Papua New Guinea, to oversee production operations of a flour mill running 2 shifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Efficient and cost-effective management of the flour mill production process;
• Co-ordinate the supply and logistics of grain to meet forecast production requirements;
• Manage the site to agreed budgets;
• Ensure effective maintenance programs;
• Pursue best practice and efficiency in the flour manufacturing process;
• Meet company quality assurance standards;
• Maintaining a safe work environment by implementation and enforcement of WHS systems.

   REQUIREMENTS

• Completion of City and Guild Milling Training Program or similar;
• Trade or tertiary level mechanical qualifications;
• A minimum of 7 years in a management position in flour production;
• Knowledge of MS Office;
• Prior experience in milling of cereal grain;
• Good communication skills and proficiency in English.

REMUNERATION
A generous remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant including base salary, housing and company vehicle. Employer will assist with work permit and visa applications. Relocation assistance include return flights to Papua New Guinea and 25 days of annual leave per annum.
