On-Site Support Engineer – Linear Video Distribution (AWS Cloud)

A leading media technology provider is seeking an Support Engineer to work within a major operator’s facility, supporting an AWS-based Linear Video Distribution Platform. THIS IS A REMOTE ROLE

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced operational environments, enjoys solving complex technical problems, and wants to be at the centre of a high-profile video delivery ecosystem.
The Opportunity As the primary on-site technical expert, you will manage a cloud-driven linear video distribution platform, including:

• SRT ingest
• Transcoding
• Packaging (DASH/HLS)
• DRM
• Origin & CDN delivery
• Session management
• Manifest manipulation
• Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI)

Your work ensures seamless, high-quality live channel delivery to millions of viewers.
Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site technical contact for the video distribution platform
• Maintain platform availability with operator engineering & operations teams
• Validate content feeds and service configurations
• Support service updates, additions, and removals
• Perform configuration updates following change-management processes
• Monitor alarms, system health, and service KPIs
• Troubleshoot issues across ingest, encoding, packaging, DRM, CDN, and DAI workflows
• Document runbooks, processes, and lessons learned
• Collaborate with remote engineering, cloud ops, and product teams
• Provide technical insight for upgrades, new features, and platform optimisation
• Assist with API-related monitoring, dashboards, and integration into NMS systems

Required Expertise

• 5+ years in broadcast or OTT video delivery systems
• Strong DevOps, Cloud, or SRE experience
• Docker, Kubernetes, and containerised environments
• Deep understanding of video workflows (ingest, encoding, packaging, DRM, CDN, DAI)
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, CloudFront, CloudWatch, IAM, Lambda)
• Proficiency in Linux, shell scripting, system logs, and root-cause analysis
• Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, multicast/unicast, DNS, routing, load balancing)
• Excellent documentation and customer-facing communication skills

Nice-to-Have

• CI/CD and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK)
• DRM technologies (Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay)
• Understanding of DAI workflows
• AWS or cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Associate)
