We’re looking for a dynamic Senior News TV Director to lead the technical direction and execution of news broadcasts, while driving high production standards and fostering innovation in control room operations.
  
This is a pivotal leadership role, where you’ll shape the look, feel, and quality of broadcasts - ensuring audiences receives world-class news content across all platforms.
  
�� Role Overview
As Senior News TV Director, you will oversee all aspects of live and recorded news broadcasts, from technical direction and real-time decision-making during live shows, to managing a talented team of directors and control room staff.
  
You will collaborate closely with producers, editorial leaders, and engineering teams to maintain production excellence and introduce innovative workflows and technologies that elevate our programming.
  
�� Key Responsibilities

• Direct live and recorded news programmes, ensuring smooth switching between cameras, graphics, video feeds, and anchors
• Make fast, informed decisions during breaking news coverage
• Lead and mentor a team of directors, technical directors, and control room staff
• Collaborate with producers and editorial teams to deliver high-quality visual execution
• Ensure broadcasts meet brand, pacing, and technical standards, with continuous quality improvement
• Manage crisis situations calmly and professionally to maintain on-air integrity
• Provide training to junior staff and champion new tools and workflows in the control room
• Work closely with engineering teams to optimise broadcast systems and contribute to technical upgrades

  
�� Skills & Experience Required

• Deep understanding of control room operations and broadcast technology
• Proven experience as a TV Director within a live news environment
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Calm under pressure, with excellent real-time decision-making skills
• Exceptional coordination and time management
• Collaborative approach with editorial and engineering teams
