The successful candidate will be involved in the whole lifecycle of PCB product development from concept and prototype stages, through to production and support.

This role will develop experience and skills across the full Printed Circuit Board design lifecycle, from technical specification and schematic capture through prototype and pre-production design and verification and into mass production.

Your Role:

As an enthusiastic team player within the PCB Design Team you will be collaborating with other Development Engineering teams to produce designs for assembled Printed Circuit Boards suitable for production. Our products are digital radios destined for secure and reliable communications.

There will be self-management and the reporting of progress to project teams and line manager.

Your Day to Day:

Our customer base includes many different industries and markets around the world. Our complete TETRA and LTE solutions have been developed specifically for users in multiple sectors to face their critical communications challenges.
There is no such thing as a typical day here at Sepura. You will be supported by your manager and team, as well as collaborating with other departments across the business. PCB Design activities you will be responsible for include:

• PCB and FPC layout (place and route)
• Schematic Capture
• ECAD library part creation
• post processing for fabrication and assembly
• producing PCB drawings and bills of material
• arrangement of prototype builds

What you need to succeed:

Essential Qualifications:

Engineering Apprenticeship or Degree or equivalent in a Science or Engineering subject.

Experience and Skills:

3 years PCB Design experience

• PCB layout
• schematic capture
• blind and buried via design
• post processing for fabrication and assembly
• producing PCB drawings and bills of material
• understanding of PCB manufacturing techniques
• sound knowledge of Microsoft office suite
• Communicates effectively with others across multiple disciplines
• Ability to work methodically to a high level of quality with good attention to detail

Desirable Qualifications:

Degree or above in Electronic / Electrical Engineering subject

Desirable Experience and Skills:

• Siemens EDA library management
• Siemens EDA Expedition
• schematic capture using Siemens EDA Xpedition Designer
• Altium Designer or Altium 365
• design for HDI, RF and high speed
• design of Flexible Printed Circuits
• constraint management
• controlled impedance and differential pairs
• Valor DFM checks of ODB++ data
• design work relating to communications products.
• ordering of prototype PCBs and assemblies
• Works well within a small, focussed team, sometimes against tight deadlines
