This company is a multi-division building products business, stretching from civil and infrastructure to structural building products. These products are installed in every building. Key channels to market are direct to builders and trades or via hardwares/distributors. Your audience is broad - architects, builders, engineers and trades. The company is profitable, stable and has a great reputation in the markets it plays in and possesses some clear strategic advantages against the competition.
What's in it for you? This organisation is looking to establish a full marketing function and it is your job to develop the systems, tools, product range and message to customers. Reporting to the General Manager, (who has a solid understanding of marketing), you'll be developing the marketing plan for this division, analyse market gaps and capitalise on them via NPD, marketing strategy and execution. This is an ideal step for a seasoned product manager looking to take a step up into a full marketing manager role. There is also the possibility of building a team beneath you should your results warrant it.
This role requires the ability to scope out new markets for size, potential market share and profitability, then developing the product with R&D and production and launching it.
Develop the marketing plan for your division
Review the market and range and assess opportunities for new products and channels to market
Channel management - in particular, the hardware channel and market offer for this customer base
New product development
Reporting, data analysis, forecasting and segmentation
Working on pricing and margins
Promotion – strategy regarding the messages and target audience and work closely with agencies and a marketing communications manager for execution - ATL, BTL and digital
Work through a variety of different channels to market
Work closely with marketing communications with regards to literature, sales team support etc.
Your skills and experience
You have appropriate marketing qualifications
Advanced use of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Previous experience as a product manager in building products, retail hardware, industrial or allied industries
Project management and organisation skills
Professional approach and a friendly attitude
Ability to influence across the business with a variety of functions
Track record of success
