Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in East London, are looking for an experienced Commercial Estates Surveyor to join their team and play a crucial role in their property services.       

Position: Commercial Estates Surveyor
Rate: £500 per day (Umbrella)
Contract Duration: Temp (Sep 2026) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Purpose:

• To be able to provide the broad range of skills required to manage the Council owned mixed-use commercial property portfolio, including rent reviews and lease renewals, tenant applications to assign, sublet and alter, requests for Deeds of Variations and the coordination of dilapidations. To assist with managing the Council’s commercial operational properties.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Estate Surveyor is part of a team managing over 600 Council owned commercial properties, the majority of which are retail, but also includes industrial, offices and land.
• To be responsible for implementing the Council’s property asset management policies.
• Actively contribute to the preparation of Corporate Property and Commercial Portfolio Strategy.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation. 
• Relevant public sector/commercial estates experience (L&T, Service Charges, Property Management). 
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
