Your New Role
As a finance business partner, you'll take on full P&L responsibility for an operating division of the company. You'll report to the head of finance business partnering, and work alongside a team finance business partners - each with their own dedicated portfolio, but available to share advice, tips, and create a team environment. You'll also work regularly with technical teams in the field, operations, and the group finance team (CFO, Controller, FP&A, Systems).
The role is a fairly typical example of an FBP role - budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting & analysis, financial analysis, preparing ad hoc reports and using both the accounting system, planning tools and business intelligence applications. This role is strategic in nature and you are expected to enhance the outcomes, profitability and continuously improve processes. You are a catalyst for change, making things happen, adding your input via data driven insights and recommendations. More than just a month end reporting role, you'll engage in real time decision support as it happens in the business.
As a people focused role, you'll build a strong relationship with your key GM and management team, gaining trust and working well with them, earning your seat at the table. You'll also work in tandem with your peers, exchanging ideas, and hopefully innovating and helping them improve their business partnering skills too.
Your Profile
The current team ranges in experience from 8 years to over 30 years, what they have in common is passion for making an impact and forward looking finance. Being embedded in the business, you are a business person who just so happens to be a trained and qualified accountant. You have demonstrated the ability to move the needle in previous roles, driving improvements, simplifying processes, improving margins, profitability, or reducing costs - tangibly and measurably, you know your numbers down to the dollar. Refreshingly, there is no checklist of items, really, your profile just needs to demonstrate success as a finance business partner / ops facing management accountant, and your personal presentation will provide the culture fit into the organisation.
