Your Strategy Role
The word strategy gets thrown around a lot, but in this case, it is actually a strategy role.  Entering into a mature, highly competitive market, you are tasked with staying on top of industry trends, benchmarking, customer insights, even regulatory developments.  Reporting to a highly regarded and accomplished strategy manager, you be be assigned a specific portfolio with the company and act as an internal management consultant, with cross functional stakeholders, and operational leaders to partner with.  You'll provide strategic advice including scenario analysis, long term planning, all backed by data.  You will also have an internal business improvement target, keeping an eye on cost optimization & rationalization, and ensuring the company is fit for the future.  

In today's social media dominated marketing, you'll help with content strategy, social perceptions, brand strategy, and more.

Your Profile
There are really three pathways to thrive in strategy and you'll need to come from one or more of these areas to make the shortlist as we require a proven performer, this isn't a training ground, it's the big leagues.

1.  Management Consulting - you've provided strategy consulting services to a broad range of clients and want to move to the corporate side and grow your career with one company, rather than engagement to engagement.

2.  Corporate Strategy - you're already in a strategy department and want a change of scenery, you've delivered what you could and are ready for the next challenge.

3.  Operational background from within the sporting industry, you know it inside and out as you've lived it.  Your hands on knowledge and experience sets you up to set the strategy based on your industry expertise gained over many years in the doing.

Given the stakeholders from Executive, Senior Leadership Team, Operations, Customers, and even Politicians, you possess exceptional table manners and communication skills.  You are a confident presenter, commercially astute and can read a room, delivering your insights/recommendations with impact and influence.
