Based on expansion, particularly in WA's northwest, a new business unit has been created and needs your expertise.
Your New Role
As the key finance business partner (senior management accountant), you will look after the largest portfolio in the company (and be it's most seasoned FBP, not a role for a 1st timer), and provide timely and accurate management reporting (PowerBI), noting what happened and why, for both new projects (contract based) and ongoing operations with a focus on costs. Further, you'll be involved in strategic planning, financial analysis, decision support, budgeting, forecasting, developing data based insights and recommendations, working with your continuous improvement, growth mindset. Your efforts will directly impact on the growth and profitability of the division and wider business. You'll work in a team of finance business partners, reporting to the head of finance business partnering and ultimately support the CFO's office.
Your key stakeholders will be project managers, operations managers, divisional GM's, group finance, executives, and systems finance team. As your portfolio is based in NW WA, it is expected you'll travel out to your region from time to time (few times per year, short stays) to develop trusted relationships with your key stakeholders. You'll be based in the Perth HQ and work typical business hours, with reasonable additional hours during peak periods or critical project deliverables. You'll also enjoy the ability to work from home 1-2 days per week based on your preferred way of working.
Your Profile
You've got a deep track record in heavy industry, project based or mining services organisations delivering superior management accounts and analysis. You are commercially astute, with demonstrated understanding of complex operations, contracts of large value $100m+, and are advanced in MS Excel, planning tools, and ERP systems automations. As the most senior role in the team, you will have equal or more experience than the other senior management accountants/FBP's in the team. A CA/CPA/CIMA or equivalent is essential along with work rights in Australia. You have a positive attitude, growth mindset, and work well with both finance and non-finance stakeholders from the executive down to the workshop front lines.
