Your New Role
As the new accountant, you'll work under the finance manager to provide end to end accounting services (financial + management accounting) for a portion of the company's overall portfolio. You'll enjoy onboarding from your peer Accountant, and benefit from a talented finance officer handling bookkeeping and reconciliations for you. You will be hands on in financial reporting/monthly financial statement preparation with your expert analysis and commentary, along with periodic budgeting and forecasting, including variance analysis.
You'll participate in continuous process improvement where you see things could be done better and more efficiently and/or automated. Maintain dashboards and KPI reporting. From time to time you'll be involved decision support, investment analysis & due diligence and subsequent integration for financial reporting, providing your recommendations to management. You'll also maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with the latest legislation on accounting standards.
Your Profile
Aside from being an awesome person, someone people love working with, you also know a debit from a credit because you're also an awesome accountant. You most likely trained in public practice and have added on some additional corporate accounting experience doing month end accounts, honing your advanced excel skills (including building financial models), and providing end to end support for an operating business. You most definitely have your CA or CPA qualification and probably achieved it with first time passes in the first 3 years of your career, as a go getter, you'd accept nothing less from yourself. You enjoy using technology to make things more efficient and improve reporting processes, and in fact, you'll be spearheading an upcoming implementation when taking on this role. You're definitely keen to learn, but also like to have a crack yourself at thing first, working autonomously with occasional support on really tricky items. You are a confident presenter of information and analysis, able to steer and recommend decision making of GM, EGM and C-Suite leaders. Bonus points awarded for high/elite achievement in your passions outside work. And finally, you have a long term view on employment, as you could probably be happy here for 10+ years.
