Your New Advisory
Perth is now home to over 50 M&A advisory teams (and counting), however, most are resources focused. General industrials cover over 1/3rd of mid market M&A transactions and is underserved by comparison to resources. With boomers retiring, the market forecasts significant activity, and your new advisory is well positioned to capitalize on the increased activity with proved deal writers in all markets. The group is well funded, strong track record, and have a history of promoting from within on merit.
Your New Role
Serving as 2IC to the head of M&A here in Perth, you'll be tasked with execution, helping build, lead and train a team, driving outcomes and assisting with business development (no revenue target at this level). Expect to work across from financial sponsors, owner/founders, and others looking to transact. You'll work predominately on the sell side, with some buy side, and general corporate finance support for certain Clients. Expect transactions $20m-200m, with some exceptions to the upside.
Your Profile
To enter as a senior manager/associate director level, it is expected you can help execute a transaction from day one and have considerable experience in M&A advisory, preferably mid-market private (diversified industries ideally). You have experience managing client communications, running data rooms, mentoring junior analysts/associates, managing due diligence, and supporting pitching/business development efforts with proposals and slide decks. Typically a senior manager/AD has 7-10 years corporate finance experience with consistent progression from analyst, associate, manager and now this step - senior manager/AD. We can consider a manager stepping up, or a lateral move if you are an existing AD/Sr Manager and wanting an upgrade in team/firm.
What's in it for You?
- Current deal flow is significant, which has led to the team growth/expansion and will likely result in considerable bonuses in the foreseeable future.

Job Search TipThe most asked interview question by senior bankers to candidates is tell me a about a recent transaction you worked on. The best answer discusses the background of deal (how it came about), why it was a good one (where was the value to the buy side), what your part in the transaction was, and your commercial view of the deal (did you extract a fair price). Be prepared with bullet points that you can turn into compelling stories.
