Flexible working, you bet, whether it's early/late starts or a couple days WFH, so long as your stakeholders are happy and the outcomes are achieved you have some real autonomy, whilst also being part of a team.
Your New Role
Your role has been specifically created to address new tenders and projects won, working closely with business development, engineering, and project managers at various project lifecycles. You'll be there from initial tender, providing financial modelling, costing, and margin analysis, through work in progress budgets/forecasts/variations and variances and post project look-back processes. Though labelled finance business partner, this role could easily be called senior financial analyst or senior commercial analyst in other organisation based on the content and business focus of the role.
Your Skills/Experience
For you to deliver the desired outcomes and be successful in the role you'll need to bring with you the ability to build project based financial models from a blank excel workbook, have expertise on business planning tools (including the training of others on systems - particularly non-finance, management levels), and apply your well developed commercial acumen to ensure accuracy of project assumptions and best practice are applied. As a senior position supporting executives, you will have at least 2 years at the analyst level in a similar function and ready for a senior analyst/business partner level position and responsibility.
You have relevant qualifications, and though a CA/CPA/CIMA is advantageous, this is not an accounting role and study in applied finance, masters of finance or even engineering disciplines would be suitable.
Your Career Track
Whether you are a career analyst who just loves supporting new projects with your analytical expertise, or wish to grow into more commercial, business development, project management, or even more traditional FP&A style pathways, all of these could be pursued beyond this initial appointment. The company supports ongoing education, reimburses approved professional development courses related to your work/qualifications, and offers a host of other non-cash benefits.
