Your New Role
Whilst the company has high performing and tenured teams in financial reporting (internal + external), tax, treasury, ap, a/r, payroll, management accounting and even systems accounting, what they are now building is a data analytics and reporting function within the group reporting team. As both a qualified accountant and a data analyst, your dual skill set will allow you to drive deployment of new reporting capability as the company divides into multiple divisions and sets up granular reporting for each. You will develop new reporting packages, reduce reliance on the current magnificent yet exceptionally complex excel models, ensure consistent formatting of reporting for each operating unit, and manage data effectively - through mapping + matching processes. These new reports will be created from scratch as you work closely with the management reporting team, senior systems accountant, and technical BA's. Your role will go beyond just financial systems, but also be involved in production and operational systems. The role is described and anticipated to be about 70% technology based and 30% accounting based.
Your Profile
As a minimum requirement, you bring both an accounting skill set and data analytics/systems skill set to this role. A CA/CPA/CIMA qualification is essential for shortlist consideration per the hiring managers involved. Your passion for harnessing technology into the accounting field, including application of AI in modern business processes make you the ideal person to take on this opportunity. You have a continuous improvement and growth mindset, working well with others across the business to ensure the outputs are achieved. As a Greenfield build, you are comfortable taking a project from concept to coordination through to implementation. Generally, if you are 1-3 years post qualified, you could be an ideal fit for the position with room to grow in the company into more senior roles in future given their growth trajectory.
