About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Production Engineer to join our Machine Shop team. You will be responsible for producing CNC programs, supporting our manufacturing operations with all necessary documentation, and ensuring our machines and tooling are maintained to the highest standards. This role also involves pricing and scheduling work, liaising with internal teams and customers, and supporting small batch and prototype manufacturing.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Create CNC programs and all supporting documentation for the shop floor.
• Support smooth day-to-day operations, including one-off prototype work.
• Schedule and price work effectively.
• Collaborate with Designers, Buyers, and internal/external customers.
• Maintain accurate Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) records and weekly maintenance sheets.
• Monitor and verify maintenance reports; investigate discrepancies.
• Coordinate machine servicing schedules and engineer visits.
• Order tooling and consumables to maintain uninterrupted operations.
• Maintain tool vending machine inventory.
• Complete structures and routings within the ERP system to ensure accurate job packs.
• Ensure all material, tooling, and program information is controlled.
• Promote health and safety legislation adherence in the manufacturing area.

Education, Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 3 years' experience programming with Hypermill CAD/CAM.
• Strong machining background with batch work and prototypes.
• Experience with Open Mind (Hypermill) 5-axis programming essential.
• Ability to program complex parts to very high standards.
• Highly computer literate; competent in operating CNC machine tools.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, including GD&T.
• Experience in mechanical assembly.
