A well-established boutique accounting firm in Sydney CBD is seeking an experienced SMSF Accountant to join their newly created specialist team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dedicated SMSF division that manages approximately 70 SMSFs, along with associated trust structures.

Perfect for those candidates who are already specialists in this field or have extensive SMSF Accounting as part of their role, and wish to specialise in this niche area.

Key responsibilities include:

• The firm specialises in complex and interesting SMSF matters, moving beyond “vanilla” funds to include property structures, derivatives, cryptocurrency and more sophisticated investment portfolios.
• You will lead and mentor one overseas, whilst working with the boarder Business Services / Tax team.
• Preparation and review of SMSF financial statements and tax returns
• Working with approximately 70 SMSF clients and associated trust structures
• Utilising BGL 360 and other SMSF technology platforms
• Reviewing data feeds, franking credits and investment reporting
• Assisting with continuous improvement of SMSF processes and systems
• You will use BGL and also BGL Simple Invest
• Ensure all information is kept up to date
• You will be the go-to person for all things SMSF
• Tracking investments – shares – managed funds, property and other assets – via Simple Invest

About You:

• 4+ years accounting experience, with strong exposure to SMSF
• Experience using BGL 360 
• Strong understanding of SMSF compliance and reporting
• Interest in complex SMSF investment structures
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
