This international yet boutique Chartered Accounting and Tax Advisory firm delivers specialist tax advice to private clients, family groups and SMEs with cross-border interests. With operations across multiple jurisdictions and a head office based in Sydney, they are excited to be expanding their footprint into Melbourne due to continued growth and new client demand.

As part of this expansion, they are seeking an experienced Tax Manager or Director to take ownership of the Melbourne client base and play a key role in delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services.

The Role

This is a hands-on compliance and advisory role with autonomy and responsibility. You will be supported by the Sydney and offshore teams while managing Melbourne-based clients independently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing your own client portfolio, including direct client meetings and relationship management
• Manage a portfolio of clients – of approx. $1 million
• Preparation and review of financial statements and all types of tax returns
• Delivering broader tax compliance and advisory services, with an international focus
• Managing team WIP, workflow, productivity and turnaround times
• Overseeing the team’s lodgement program
• Supporting, mentoring and training team members where required

Skills & Experience

You will be a confident, personable and commercially minded professional with strong leadership capability, along with:

• CA qualification
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Business Services / Tax- client-facing experience
• Strong interest in specialising in Tax, particularly International Tax
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Proven experience managing WIP, workflow, client expectations and productivity
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with interstate and offshore teams

Other Aspects to consider

• This role is Melbourne CBD-based, and offers hybrid working (3 days in the office and 2 days from home) - you will have access to a serviced office
• Initially you will be the sole operator in the Melbourne office; however, you will be supported by the Sydney and offshore team
• Salary approx. $180K package (flexible), subject to experience
