About the Role
Due to continued growth across the Place Group, we are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team at Place Head Office.
Reporting to our Finance Business Partners and CFO, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of multiple business units across the organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with 1-3 years of experience who is looking to further develop their technical skills while gaining exposure to management reporting, business decision making and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Daily bank reconciliations across multiple business entities
- Monthly sales reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with the preparation of management accounts and cash flow reporting
- Supporting month-end processes, including reporting and variance analysis
- Reviewing and reconciling aged debtors and assisting with accounts receivable functions
- Assisting with IAS preparation and statutory reporting requirements
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Directors and Office Managers
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency across the Finance function
- Providing support across the wider Finance team as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
- 1-3 years' experience in an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Officer or similar accounting role
- Exposure to bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable and balance sheet reconciliations
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience using Xero, MYOB or similar accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Accounting qualifications completed or currently in progress will be highly regarded
