We’re looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our Collie team to support Collie Power Station and Collie Battery Energy Storage System (CBESS). Reporting to the People and Payroll Manager, you’ll provide a wide range of payroll services to the business, managing an end-to-end payroll in an efficient and timely manner.
This role will suit someone who’s flexible, proactive, hands-on, and comfortable working with minimal supervision. While the role has defined accountabilities, you’ll also be willing to jump in and support the wider payroll team as priorities shift.

What you’ll do
- Process an end-to-end weekly payroll in line with relevant legislation, awards, and enterprise agreement requirements.
- Manage employee and employer deductions, contributions, and benefits with accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain employee payroll records including changes, transfers, and terminations.
- Complete onboarding and offboarding activities within payroll systems, ensuring data integrity.
- Enter timesheets and collate shift information to support correct payments.
- Respond to payroll enquiries and resolve issues promptly, escalating where appropriate.
- Partner with key stakeholders to provide guidance and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Maintain effective internal and external relationships and deliver payroll information and reporting within agreed timeframes.
What you’ll have - Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing (experience in trades or resources is advantageous but not essential).
- Enterprise Agreement interpretation and payment experience (May be required to process wages on multiple enterprise agreements and well as common law contracts
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with data, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX, EmpLive, and ADP (advantageous).
- Comfort working across multiple systems and integrations, with strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of finance and payroll amalgamations and the downstream impacts of payroll transactions.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A proactive, flexible approach and the ability to adapt as the role evolves.
