As an experienced Operations and Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) with Worley, you will form part of the team at Telfer Power Station. Telfer is supported by 2 power stations: The Primary Power station consists of 3 x GE LM6000PC Open Cycle Gas Turbines and the Secondary consists of x3 Wartsila and x2 EMD Diesel Generator sets. Telfer Power Stations supplies the Telfer Mine Site and all associated facilities and is situated in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

This role sits within in our Power Services division which provides operations and maintenance services to over 30 power generation assets across Australia. Guided by our vision - working together to deliver a sustainable and low-carbon energy future - Worley Power Services is a leading asset management partner for complex and critical infrastructure.
What you’ll do
- Proactively maintain a safe working environment
- Assist in plant start-ups and shutdowns where required
- Performing routine, preventative, corrective maintenance
- Effectively utilise provided systems, processes and resources to ensure that Worley and our client’s business objectives are achieved
- Assist in fostering a culture of continuous improvement by identifying improvements in maintenance activities and processes
- Conduct plant inspections and unit return to service walk downs
- Ensure Worley HSE standards are implemented and achieved
- Assess risks and hazards involved in tasks and methods to manage hazards and prevent incidents and injury
- Identify and report details of all non-conforming work in order to prevent future non-conformances
- Develop with the work group JHA’s and risk assessments for tasks being undertaken
What you’ll have To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess a combination of work experience, skills and or qualifications in the following areas:
- Experience operating and maintaining gas turbine generators
- Previous experience within the Power industry
- Mechanical aptitude
- Exposure to PLC’s and Plant Control Systems
- High level diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities
- Demonstrable knowledge and practical site HSE legislation and duty of care
- Current C class manual drivers’ license
- Ability to obtain police clearance
Desirable - GE LM6000 Gas Turbine familiarly
- Computer skills Word/ Excel/ SAP and ability to learn different operating systems
- High-risk licenses for Forklift, EWP, Dogging and Rigging
- Supervised Gas Fitter Qualification – Type B appliance
