Title: Financial Accountant
Location: Lismore, NSW +Hybrid WFH

About the Role:

An opportunity is available for a Management Accountant to join a purpose-driven organisation operating within the regulated community and not-for-profit sector. Based in Lismore, this role supports the organisation’s financial management through accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and effective management of cashflow that supports essential community services.

Working within a collaborative finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting compliance requirements, and providing financial insights to support operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations and supporting documentation
• Manage grant and funding accounting, including recognition, acquittals, and compliance reporting
• Coordinate end-of-month processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial and management reports
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Assist with internal and external audit processes and maintain audit-ready documentation
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to support financial reporting and funding accountability
• Contribute to improvements in financial systems, reporting tools and internal controls

About You:

You are a detail-focused accounting professional who enjoys working in a structured environment and supporting organisations that deliver meaningful services to the community.

You will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or CA qualification (or currently working towards)
• Experience in management/financial accounting, reporting and reconciliations
• Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial compliance
• Advanced Excel and strong analytical capabilities
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
