Smart Energy is one of Australia’s leading electrification companies, helping households transition to solar, batteries and EV technology. As the business continues to scale nationally, we are seeking an experienced Head of Operations to lead and optimise the company’s operational engine.

Based in Byron Bay, this is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring Smart Energy can scale rapidly while maintaining strong customer outcomes, operational efficiency and commercial performance. The role has been intentionally designed as a pathway to COO as the business continues to grow.

The Role
Reporting to the Executive Leadership Team, you will take ownership of the end-to-end operational lifecycle, from contract execution through to installation, logistics and customer support.

A key focus will be building scalable systems and processes that support growth while improving operational efficiency and customer experience.
You will oversee functions including:

• Installation & Field Operations
• Customer Support
• Logistics & Warehousing
• Procurement & Supplier Management
• Technical Support & Auditing

Key Focus Areas

• Scale operations to support rapid national growth
• Drive data-driven operational improvement and process optimisation
• Identify operational bottlenecks and improve efficiency
• Work closely with the tech team to maximise systems and automation
• Deliver strong commercial outcomes through improved processes, margins and productivity

About You
You are a highly analytical and commercially minded operations leader who thrives in fast-growing environments.

You will bring:

• Senior operations leadership experience in a high-growth or multi-site business
• Strong experience scaling operational systems and processes
• A data-driven mindset with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement
• Experience working with technology-enabled or cloud-based operational systems
• Strong commercial acumen and leadership capability

Experience in energy, solar, construction, logistics or service delivery environments will be highly regarded.
