- Temporary Part Time Contract
- SCHADS Level 4
- Immediate Start
- Based out of our client's Lismore office
Our client is looking for someone who genuinely
gets young people — someone who can walk into a school, spot the kid who’s hanging back, and instinctively know how to spark a conversation and build trust. This is a hands-on, roll-your-sleeves-up role working with young people aged 10–24 across the Richmond region (Lismore, Coraki, Casino).
We are seeking a dedicated Youth Community Connector to boost engagement, deliver meaningful programs, and help young people access the right supports at the right time.
What you’ll be doing You’ll be out in schools and the community, not sitting behind a desk. Your days might include:
- Engaging young people one-on-one and in small groups
- Designing and delivering youth programs around healthy relationships, AOD awareness, protective behaviours, transitioning to high school, identity, inclusion and more
- Collaborating with schools and community agencies to identify emerging issues and gaps
- Running workshops, events and activities that draw young people in (not just ticking the box)
- Providing advocacy, referrals and practical support for young people with complex needs
- Bringing creativity and initiative to a program that’s ready for fresh energy and real impact
This role sits within a small, supportive team that’s already doing great community engagement — but they need someone who is laser-focused on
youth connection and can bring confidence, consistency and drive.
Who this role is perfect for Someone who:
- Has genuine youth work experience.
- Is confident facilitating programs in schools and community settings.
- Isn’t intimidated by cold-calling schools or walking up to groups of young people.
- Loves designing programs and trying new engagement strategies.
- Understands the mental health and wellbeing needs of young people from diverse backgrounds including Aboriginal communities, LGBTQIA+ young people, CALD communities, and those facing disadvantage.
- Can juggle priorities, hit KPIs (including engagement targets), and still stay warm, grounded and youth-focused.
Tertiary qualifications in youth work, social sciences, community services or similar are required.
What you’ll bring - Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Confidence delivering programs such as healthy relationships, Love Bites style sessions, AOD awareness or wellbeing workshops
- The ability to identify what young people actually want and create something meaningful around it
- Initiative in spades — someone who just gets in and makes things happen
- Cultural awareness and a genuine commitment to inclusion
- Experience working with young people who’ve disengaged from school or are transitioning back
- Willingness to co-design new program content with the team
The practical bits - Based out of Lismore
- Part-time temp role (days flexible around the existing 3-day worker)
- SCHADS Level 4
- You’ll need a WWCC, police check and driver’s licence
