SCHADS Award – Above Award Position
Are you a strong clinical leader with a passion for mental health, team development, and rural communities? Do you thrive in building services from the ground up and bringing consistency, structure, and care to evolving teams?
As Clinical Manager, you will play a key role in embedding strong clinical governance, supporting clinical staff, and fostering safe, effective service delivery across both locations. You will be onsite two days a week in Muswellbrook, two days in Singleton, with one day from home. This role requires someone who is present, hands-on, and happy to travel between sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical supervision, debriefing, and practice development for a team of 8 direct reports: Clinical Practitioners, AOD Counsellors, and Peer Workers.
- Maintain a strong presence across both sites, ensuring adherence to clinical governance frameworks and risk management protocols.
- Be available for on-call clinical guidance during operational hours, including evenings (up to 8pm Mon/Wed/Thurs) and weekends (12–4pm).
- Support students through a university placement program and coordinate learning opportunities.
- Bring consistency and leadership to two services still in their early stages of development.
About You: - Qualified in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Mental Health Nursing, or similar.
- Professionally registered (AHPRA or relevant counselling body).
- Demonstrated experience in clinical supervision and team leadership.
- Strong understanding of mental health and AOD service delivery, suicide prevention, and child protection protocols.
- Confident decision-maker with excellent relational and coaching skills.
- Committed to compliance, risk management, and process improvement.
- Comfortable with travel and embedding consistency across multiple sites.
We are looking for a leader who is
ready to roll up their sleeves, provide
practical clinical support, and drive high-quality care. You don’t need to be a strategist – but you must know how to build trust, coach a team, and uphold the highest clinical standards.
Why Join Our Client? - Be part of something meaningful in rural mental health – community impact is real and visible.
- Access leadership development and a workplace that invests in its managers.
- Work within purpose-built, well-resourced clinics.
- Above award pay, supportive senior leadership, and autonomy to shape your role.
