About the Role:
We are seeking a Clinical Manager to lead and shape the expansion of a critical suicide prevention program across the Central Coast, Newcastle, and Upper Hunter regions. This newly created leadership role will guide the clinical governance and service delivery of a frontline team making a real difference in the lives of people in crisis.
You will provide clinical oversight to three Team Leaders who manage local teams of Support Navigators and Peer Workers, and support a total workforce of 19 staff. With teams based across Newcastle, the Upper Hunter, and the Central Coast, this role offers flexible working with a blend of remote engagement and in-person support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical governance across all program areas, ensuring best-practice care and risk management.
- Mentor and support Team Leaders, offering guidance on complex cases and procedures.
- Drive the setup and ongoing implementation of this expansion service, including group programs and family support initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Manager and assist in managing program expansion and reporting.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including PHNs, mental health services, and community partners.
About You:You are a confident leader with a strong clinical background and a passion for suicide prevention. You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Mental Health Nursing, or Occupational Therapy (specialising in mental health).
- Registration with AHPRA or a recognised counselling body.
- Proven experience in clinical governance, mental health service delivery, and leading teams in high-risk environments.
- Knowledge of suicide prevention frameworks and best practice interventions.
- A commitment to ethical, client-centred care and supervision of clinical staff (Board-approved psychologists highly regarded).
